1 health left on the last enemy Boss and not enough speed on my monsters. What was supposed to be a clean finish of the run, turned out into sudden 2 casualties, on my side of the board. The victory was not in danger, but it could have been more decisive.

There were two ways to increase the speed of my monsters.

At the time, I was considering using the Metabolism Shift reward to trade 1 health of my Trypognath for 4 increase in speed. That would have been a good play. For whatever reason, my mind rejected the idea of lowering the health on my Trypnognath. I ended up wasting the Metabolism Shift on my Coocoo. It was a terrible decision.

I caught a Lightbringer that had a speed increasing move. Then I had a change of heart and decided to remove him from my deck. I just did not think this through and got punished for it. He would have been a lot more useful than the Coocoo.


This was a basic self healing Kilimaro, later turned to Gargoro. Both Snowball and the Iceleech were extracted, before evolving. The Iceleech was inject back to let him self heal as the Gargoro. The Snowball went elsewhere.

I had an Amazing Trypnognath. He was bulky enough, thanks to the Feast event, but the speed was lacking. Still, the Vampirism & Sadistic and the Double Injection was a potent combination. Looking back, I really should have lowered his max health down from 7 to 6 and increase his speed from 5 to 9. High speed is something to keep in mind when you are building your damage dealer. The game has a habit of punishing you if the speed is not there yet.

There was an amazing Grimjaw with the Cloning move. This move would let him self heal, retreat and leave a copy behind. This copy would reapply all on placed effects. He was loaded with those. The Frightening to weaken enemies & to trigger Sadistic, the Quick Fist for Sadistic, and the Snowball for speed control & Icebreaker & Sadistic. Very fun package.

Coocoo could put enemies to sleep. He even had an extra Keratin for some free armor. He was underutilized. The Lightbringer I had would have been better.

I got an excellent Chasm Horror. 8/6 is a near perfect staline, for something that does not need to evolve. This variant knew the Quick Fist (later moved to the Grimjaw to take advantage of his Cloning) and the Choke Hold move. He was basically my sleep inducing character. Having him made Coocoo even more redundant.
