It's not an Omanyte or a snail! This is a fossil ammonite impression of an ancient marine creature called an ammonite. There are actually two ammonite impressions in this rock 🪨 - thats rare getting a “ double negative,” it must have worn away the original calcite ammonite that was there ! I recommend safety spectacles and sturdy gloves when hammering the right Little Rock’s. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs, the best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks.
