Hello, my Temptations Community! Today I wanted to share with you a performance of the Temptations singing "Love Woke Me Up This Morning," led by Damon Harris off of their "All Directions" album, live in Paris in 1973.

The reason I wanted to post this performance is because a couple days ago on February 18, it marked 11 years since Otis "Damon" Harris passed away. To celebrate his life, I wanted to share this performance in honor of the late Damon Harris, as many would say he was the closest to original Temptation Eddie Kendricks. He was former first tenor lead singer of the Temptations from 1971-1975, technically replacing Eddie Kendricks but it was actually Ricky Owens, though he only lasted three shows with the group. His voice is what the Tempts needed at the time, since Eddie left and went to pursue a solo career. Many fans would say that his voice was very similar to Eddie's falsetto voice, as I would say so myself. He made his trademark as co-lead on the #1 hit and Grammy award winning song "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" in 1972.

Damon was truly an example of the perfect replacement for the group. His voice was very similar to his idol, but he made it unique in his own gifted way. Many fans said that Damon should've been inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall Of Fame in 1989, due to the success of their classic song "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone," as it also got them their second Grammy award. Damon will never be forgotten. He was truly a Temptation. Temptations Forever. Rest in peace, Damon Harris.
