It's national MRI Safety Week, so we visited technologist Nathan Ooms in the ‪@PurdueUniversity‬ Life Science MRI Facility to demonstrate the strength of the three powerful Tesla magnets using the fabulous floating belt trick.

The metal belt buckle is forcefully attracted to the Siemens MAGNETOM Prisma MRI scanner, which reinforces the safety precautions patients must take when wearing certain jewelry pieces and clothes with metallic buttons or zippers close to the machine.
