Lake George, CO Camp & Tarryall Reservoir Drive 08-08-20

I went camping near Lake George, CO off CR 31 and FSR 230. Despite the area being full of ATV and gun enthusiasts, I was still able to find a private spot and have peace. The surrounding view was typical Colorado splendor. I tried to hike a tall mountain near camp to get a view of the continental divide. I had to settle for a shorter mountain due to poor physical condition and sleep deprivation. I came across an interesting find that I took home as a trophy. The views were amazing at the top of the smaller mountain. That evening I was treated to my first camping sunset of this summer. The next day I took CR 77 or Tarryall Road to Tarryall Reservoir. The road and scenery along the way were ideal. It is a great area for fishing and is stocked with pike and trout. It has a small waterfall where it feeds Tarryall Creek. I didn't stay long because it was very crowded, which is normal by all reports.
