Black Adam is great. Black Adam is misunderstood and when Dwayne Johnson said the hierarchy of power in the DCEU or DCU was about to change, he wasn't kidding. Black Adam is a new beginning for DC and one that points towards a bigger, brighter, and more exciting future for the DC movies. Not only does Black Adam introduce the Justice Society, bring back Henry Cavill Superman for a forthcoming Man of Steel 2, and hint at a Black Adam vs. Superman movie, BUT it actually crafts a compelling commentary on the very nature of heroism. Specifically, heroism as it pertains to parts of the world outside of the US. In so doing, it also deconstructs the very nature of what it means to be an anti-hero. The Black Adam movie is something The Rock has been working on for the better part of 15 years, and that passion, deep desire to entertain an audience and LISTEN to the fans has brought about a critically divisive film, yes, but a MASSIVE crowd pleaser that has a bit more on its mind than it's getting credit for. Black Adam is one of the best DCEU movies and certainly one of the most underrated DC movies.
