Starting with the exterior design, the facelifted Kiger introduces noticeable changes at the front. A new bumper houses a slimmer grille design, giving the SUV a more upscale look. The skid plate is now more pronounced, while sculpted details add aggression to its stance. The familiar split-headlight setup remains but has been enhanced with additional fog lamps for better visibility.
From the side, Renault kept most of the familiar silhouette but added fresh graphics on the doors and C-pillars, paired with new 16-inch alloy wheels on the top trims. Moving to the rear, buyers will notice a redesigned bumper featuring a new skid plate and decorative inlets that give the Kiger a sportier character.
Inside the cabin, the changes are subtle but meaningful. The dashboard now includes white trim accents that brighten the space, while upholstery has been updated for a more premium feel. Entry-level buyers, however, will notice fewer luxuries. The Authentic trim makes do without the infotainment screen, offering a basic storage slot instead. But Renault has made sure safety is not compromised. Across all trims, buyers will now get six airbags, hill start assist, and rear parking sensors as standard, which is a significant upgrade considering the SUV’s price point.
Mechanically, the CMFA+ platform continues to underpin the Kiger. Power comes from the familiar gasoline engines: a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder with 71 hp, and a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 99 hp. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual, an optional AMT for the base engine, and a CVT for the turbo variant. This variety ensures buyers can find a configuration suited to their budget and driving style.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the facelifted Kiger is Renault’s decision to keep the price increase minimal. The base Authentic trim with the naturally aspirated engine and manual gearbox starts at Rs 6.30 lakh, which is only about Rs 15,000 more than before. The fully loaded Emotion trim with the turbocharged engine and CVT tops out at Rs 11.30 lakh, keeping it competitive in its class.
Against rivals like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Exter, Citroën C3, Nissan Magnite, and Suzuki Fronx, the Renault Kiger continues to punch above its weight. With fresh styling, smarter features, and stronger safety credentials, it offers tremendous value for money while remaining one of the most affordable SUVs in the market.
The facelift may not radically transform the Kiger, but it does exactly what a mid-cycle update should: keep the product modern, appealing, and competitive without losing sight of its original strength—affordability. For Indian buyers seeking a feature-packed SUV under Rs 7 lakh, the 2025 Renault Kiger remains one of the sharpest and smartest choices available today.
