DCC sound decoders are extremely popular in the hobby these days both as factory and customer installed options. However even with factory installed decoders I have heard some really poor sound quality. These usually were the result of using either the wrong speaker or inadequate enclosures or baffles. In this video I'll go over a selection of speakers and give you some pointers on their best use and show you some enclosures. In part 2 I'll go over speaker design and wiring, and explain how that impacts on sound quality.
