We visit Mrirt which is a mining town located (1,100m) in the Atlas Mountains. We visited this town for a short stop, as it is located on the road between Fez and Marrakech. The souk, or market, is well attended by people from all over the region.
Then on to Beni Mellal is a city in north-central Morocco. It is the capital of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra Region and has a population of 192,676. It sits at the foot of Jbel Tassemit, next to the plains of Beni Amir. The modern town dates back to 1688, when Moulay Isma'il founded a kasbah.
We visit Marrakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic centre and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry. A symbol of the city, and visible for miles, is the Moorish minaret of 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque. We see snake charming here!
We Stay at Sanglier Qui Fume Hotel in Marrakech.
Then on to Taroudant which is a city in the Sous in southwestern Morocco. It is situated east of Agadir on the road to Ouarzazate and south of Marrakesh. Today, it is a small market town and a tourist destination.
Then sailing back to Marseille, a port city in southern France, has been a crossroads of immigration and trade since its founding by the Greeks circa 600 B.C. At its heart is the Vieux-Port (Old Port), where fishmongers sell their catch along the boat-lined quay. Basilique Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde is a Romanesque-Byzantine church. Modern landmarks include Le Corbusier’s influential kasbah and Zaha Hadid’s CMA CGM Tower.
