How to Scrape and Repaint a Metal Railing

Описание к видео How to Scrape and Repaint a Metal Railing

How to scrape and repaint an exterior metal railing. In this video, I prepare the surface for repainting by using a stainless steel stripping brush and a paint scraper to remove rust and paint flakes. Then I wipe down the surfaces with a tack cloth to remove particulate debris.

For the paint, I used two 8 oz. cans of RUST-OLEUM Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Premium Latex Paint -- semi-gloss black. I picked this up at the local hardware store. This is not a sponsored product or video. Details on the paint start around 2:24 in the video. I ended up painting two coats on the top surface of the railing, but only one coat on the vertical bars.

Even though the video is short, this was a time-consuming and tedious project. I spent several hours just scraping and brushing the surfaces to prepare them for painting. The painting itself also took a few hours just for one coat, given all of the front, back, and side surfaces that needed to be painted. Hopefully this will last at least 5 years....

Thanks for watching.
