Adidas says certain customers may have been impacted by data breach If you bought something on the Adidas site in the US UU., You may have been affected by a data breach.

The famous sportswear firm said on Thursday that on June 26 it learned of an unauthorized party claiming to have acquired "limited data associated with certain Adidas consumers."

Adidas said in a statement that it immediately began taking steps to determine the extent of the problem and inform customers that they might have been affected. The company said it is working with data security companies and law enforcement to investigate the problem.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the data includes people's contact information, user names and encrypted passwords.

"Adidas has no reason to believe that any credit card information or physical information of those consumers was affected," the company wrote.

Other large companies have been subject to data breaches recently. In April, hackers stole data from 5 million customers of Saks and Lord & Taylor. In March, Under Armor said 150 million MyFitnessPal accounts were stolen in a data breach. And in October, Yahoo revealed that the 3 billion of its accounts were pirated in a violation of 2013.
