One from the dusty archives showing just how much or how little politics in the Scottish Borders have changed. Back in 1987 the SNP were already demanding an oil fund. All of those wasted years and wasted resources! The old TV clips show political reports from the 1980's filmed in the Scottish Borders, including a 1987 General election round up of the candidates in Roxburgh and Berwickshire followed by a programme made after the shock council by-election win by the SNP in Hawick South. A somewhat younger version of myself appears as both the SNP Parliamentary candidate and as the winning council candidate. Others to look out for in the clips include Dr Liam Fox, Archy Kirkwood, Tim Luckhurst and John Ross Scott as well as Kirsty Wark.
