In preparation for the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival 2024, a new development to enhance visitor experience was inaugurated at the vicinity of Kisama Bamboo Hall, Naga Heritage Village, on September 17, 2024.

The “Kisama House Restaurant”, established by KMK Enterprise with support from the Tourism Department, will serve local and domestic tourists with a variety of Indian and Continental dishes year-round. However, during the Hornbill Festival, the restaurant will exclusively serve pure vegetarian cuisine.

#Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism & Higher Education of Nagaland, officiated the inauguration, commending KMK Enterprise for their efforts in creating a beautifully curated restaurant.

He stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and civic responsibility among visitors, encouraging the restaurant's management to uphold high standards in food quality and hygiene.

The Minister also spoke of the unity of the Naga people and the cultural heritage embodied by Kisama, a name derived from the villages of Kigwema and Phesama.

He highlighted the government's investment, under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, to preserve Kisama as a cultural and historical hub, expressing hopes for its continued prominence, especially with the upcoming Hornbill Festival.

Nagaland’s Tourism Director, Veyielo Doulo, added that “Kisama House” will function as a multi-cuisine restaurant, while ensuring vegetarian offerings during the festival.
