Ilia Topuria is The Best Boxer in UFC History

In this video, I'm going to be explaining why I believe that Ilia Topuria is the best boxer in UFC history. He defeated Max Holloway in devastating fashion at UFC 308, and his campaign for being the fighter of the year is contending at the front of the line right now. Not only is he one of the best MMA fighters on the planet right now, but he is undeniably the best boxer in the UFC. But not just currently, he might be the best ever.

Prior to UFC 309, Topuria was coming off of a spectacular finish against the dominant former champion, Alexander Volkanovski. The moment skyrocketed his stardom to a new height that is slowly making him one of the biggest stars in the UFC. Just 2 months later, Max Holloway challenges for the BMF title at lightweight and creates most likely the biggest knockout the UFC has ever seen. The confidence, magnitude, and aura that that finish had contained was just unfathomable. Hence, it was a perfect opportunity for both Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway to face each other. Ilia Topuria has the chance to defeat 2 of the most dominant fighters in the featherweight division for the last 5 years. Max Holloway has the opportunity to recapture the featherweight title after failing to do so 3 different times.

On previous occasions, Holloway has always considered himself to be the best boxer in the UFC. However, Topuria definitely had things to say about that with his performance. Topuria primarily operates with his boxing despite his grappling background. Usually, most grapplers are not great strikers by any means. But when you watch Ilia Topuria fight you would probably think that his background is striking. That's how talented his boxing skillset is. His training videos also prove how much he understands the sweet science to incorporate it into his MMA game. In addition, his coaching team does a great job in preparing him to be the fighter that he is today. There is no other fighter in the history of the sport who fights the way he fights and actually wins at the highest level. Which is the main point. Ilia Topuria has been able to win a UFC championship using primarily his boxing skills. Here and there he'll mix in different MMA techniques but for the most part, it's hands and hands only for Topuria, and it'll stay that way until he faces someone who can match him in boxing skills or figure a way around it.
