. This one tool has saved me so much time. I used to cut my bamboo with a hand saw each year when it was ready to harvest. This year I have a small chain saw and have found that it's much easier and faster. I had been worried that the chain saw would damage the bamboo as I cut it. The damage is minimal and the time saving certainly makes it worth while.
I had also been concerned that using a chain saw to cut bamboo would blunt the blades quickly. This is true, because of the high silica content in bamboo. But I'm using cheap blades so they are inexpensive to replace and not worth taking the time to sharpen. .
