In 2016,
I was looking for a cheap project horse and she instantly caught my interest. A week later an extremely skinny, malnourished, skittish and nervous little horse arrived.
She had a horrible separation anxiety and was so stressed both under saddle and otherwise.

I kept her at home the first year and half where I only had roads and dirt tracks to ride on. To this day I still haven’t had many lessons on her.
Riding out was dangerous at many occasions as she would panic and jump on to trafficked roads and throw herself into ditches. Thanks to her I know the feeling of riding a horse in panic all too well and in all honesty I’ve been properly scared sometimes while riding her. The first few months it was like she just blacked out and ran or leaped blindly around.

I’ve lost count of how many times people told me what a mistake I made when I bought her, how she would never calm down and how she would never get over her past and her bad experiences.

Step by step she calmed down and started settling down. She started eating, gaining weight and relaxing to the stage where she could finally start building muscle.

She had done a handful of shows before I got her, and always knew how to jump but getting her around a track without ending up outside of the arena or simply just steering her around was difficult. She’s always been a good jumper naturally, but it’s been a huge challenge to get her working properly from behind and listening to my aids so she’s able to extend and collect her canter to get through the bigger courses.

Now we’ve been jumping 1.20-1.25m consistently at bigger shows with numerous placings. And were hardly ever coming home without a rosette!

I dreamed of, but never imagined her to become this good and I surely didn’t know she would turn out to be my heart horse. She’s a one in a million.

She’s the best choice I’ve ever made and I hope I’ve been a blessing to her life aswell. I don’t know where she would be without me, but I can never imagine where or who I’d be without her. She saved my life. Thank you Cara for two amazing years, here’s to many more.
