Foreign domestic helpers (FDHs) are playing a significant role in taking care of the elderly persons in many families in Hong Kong. The Social Welfare Department (SWD) collaborated with the Department of Health (DH) since 2018 to launch the “Pilot Scheme on Training for Foreign Domestic Helpers in Elderly Care” to provide training for FDHs in taking care of frail elderly persons to enhance the elderly persons' quality of life in the community and support their ageing in place. The training video clips are co-produced by SWD and DH as reference materials for the Training Scheme.
