This video provides a brief overview for new users of EpiTrax on the steps required to re-assign cases/events to a different LHD (local health department) and when a case/event involves an out-of-state resident. This is part of the Workflow process in EpiTrax. During creation of CMRs an assignment to an LHD may be made by mistake or a different jurisdiction will be investigating the case; this video will display how a user will go about re-routing these cases. Additionally, the video includes a walkthrough of the process for Out of State cases/events and the proper agency to which the case/event should be routed.

EpiTrax is a electronic disease surveillance system developed by the Utah Department of Health as part of the EpiTrax consortium effort. EpiTrax will serve as the statewide surveillance system for Nevada, replacing both NBS and Trisano. EpiTrax is an open source, highly configurable, comprehensive surveillance and outbreak management application designed for public health. It allows local, state and federal agencies to identify, investigate and mitigate communicable diseases, environmental hazards and bioterrorism events. EpiTrax supports electronic laboratory reporting (ELR) and offers sophisticated analysis, visualization and reporting of contact and case information. EpiTrax increases overall effectiveness in preventing morbidity and mortality through decreased reporting time, automated assignment and routing processes, easy form-creation tools, trend analysis, detection of anomalies and quality assurance.
