Learn Jazz Standards Series: Cherokee (Ray Noble)

In this video we analyse the classic jazz standard Cherokee, written by Ray Noble in 1938. We break down the structure, harmony and melody, hopefully making it easier to learn and remember. Cherokee is so popular with jazz musicians as the A section moves through common landing points in the key (chord I, chord IV and the secondary dominant chord II) and the B section moves through II-V-I cadences descending in tones - so it's a real improvising workout.
