MSN
Everyone’s favourite and first Instant Messenger
People who used MSN were hot
You’d send WINKS to people and NUDGE like no ones business
At it’s peak had 330 million active users
Logging on and off again to get a boy’s attention OML

Bebo
Gained most of it’s popularity in the UK with 10 million monthly users
Inventors of the Timeline which they called a Lifestream; you were able to see what your friends were doing in Real Time, all the time
Feel this is more early 90s kids as opposed to late 90s but still a worthy inclusion

Myspace
Our beloved MySpace Tom
MySpace introduced a feature known as Top 8 which got you to rate your friends and put them in your page as a badge of honour
It was also one of the first social networks to marry music and the Internet together and is responsible for helping boost the careers of some of our favourites, like Drake
You also NEVER had the custom theme so made an army of 12 year olds learn coding at an early age

Formspring & Ask.Fm
The genuine pits of hell when it came to Social Media
Anonymous questions fired at you at any time of the day and normally these were abusive
I won’t dive too much into it because truthfully they were AWFUL

PICZO
Piczo went one step further and allowed you to make a social media WEBSITE as opposed to a profile with customisable links
The Playboy Bunny diamonte logo is encrusted on many peoples brains today
