After doing all those Space CMFs earlier this year, I got in the mood to build space stuff even though it’s not normally one of my go-to themes. I had acquired these on clearance several years ago because I thought the minifigure looked cool but never built them so I dug them out of the deep back-log and built all three. The minifigure is the same in all three, and I do think he’s cool, the trans light blue head seems like an odd choice of color though. The color scheme all on these builds is solid, I periodicals like the use of sand blue instead of additional grey. The third build seems like a dumbed down version of the 1st build. There also is a ton of extra parts. I feel like with this many parts they should have been able to come up with a better build. The second one is a solid mech. Mech are overdone, but this one is done well and puts all the moving parts to use. The first build is a great little spacecraft with some fairly interesting build techniques additional the limitations. Overall, these are descent parts packs. It has lots of black and grey elements and the previously mentioned sand-blue. It also has a lot of orange. There are no standard bricks, but there are lots of modified bricks and plates that actually until. Well together. I feel like that is common in 3 in 1 sets. It also, like always has some fairly specialized parts that will be tough to use in MOCs. There are 113 parts for a set that was originally $10 so descent price to part ratio but nothing special. Overall I will grade this set a B-.
