Bypass a fuel pump relay, Ford or GM 4 & 5 pin relays

Описание к видео Bypass a fuel pump relay, Ford or GM 4 & 5 pin relays

This video shows the difference between the coil (control) and the contact point which is normally open (switch). When the coil side is powered, it creates an electromagnetic field which pulls the contacts in the switch closed which allows power to flow to the fuel pump the same way flipping a light switch in your home does. When your light switch is off your contact from the source to the light is broken or OPEN. When you turn the switch on the contacts are then CLOSED or bridged across which allows power to flow and the light to shine. When you bypass the relay like I did in this video, your powering the fuel pump all the time. This can be very helpful whether your testing your fuel pump to see if you can hear it powering on or if you suspect the relay is bad. This can also tell you of your wiring, at least on the switch side is good if you don't have a voltmeter. Everyone needs a small kit with wire ends, wire strippers and spare wire in their vehicles for emergency situations. Basic tests like these can be very useful and something just about anybody can do
