Gracious and Merciful Father,
You who are slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love,
look upon us in this holy season of Lent.
As Azariah stood amid the flames, offering a contrite heart and humbled spirit in place of holocausts,
so we stand before You, confessing our sins and pleading for Your compassion.
Remember not our offenses, O Lord, nor the faults of our youth;
in Your great mercy recall us according to Your kindness.
Teach us Your paths of truth and guide us in humility,
for You are God our Savior, patient and rich in forgiveness.
In the words of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
You command us to forgive from the heart—not merely seven times, but seventy times seven.
Yet how often we, like the unforgiving servant, grasp Your boundless pardon while withholding it from our neighbor.
Grant us the grace to return to You with our whole heart,
to forgive as we have been forgiven,
and to offer You the sacrifice of a broken and contrite spirit.
May Your mercy transform us, that we may extend it generously,
reflecting Your love in our daily lives.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Ne memineris delictorum nostrorum, Domine, neque vitiorum iuventutis nostrae;
in magna misericordia Tua nos secundum benignitatem Tuam revoca.
Semitas veritatis Tuas nos doce et in humilitate nos dirige,
quia Tu es Deus Salvator noster, patiens et dives in venia.
Verbis Filii Tui, Domini nostri Iesu Christi,
Amen.
