Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres was one of the great master painters. Known for his beautiful portraits, he incorporated elements of history wherever possible, selecting settings and clothing that help viewers understand his subjects as people in society.

In our upcoming 7-day workshop, participants will paint master copies from a selection of Ingres's portraits using his system of painting. Suitable for all levels, principal instructor Fernando Freitas will guide students to explore everything from materials, to colour mixing, to all the academic layers of painting.
