Approximately one-third of all children's visits to a healthcare professional can be attributed to fever. While the underlying cause of the fever is generally benign, it can cause distress and discomfort in children, leading to "fever phobia" in caregivers. Assessment and appropriate management of pain is a challenging yet essential component of pediatric care. Understanding the goals of therapy of fever and pain as well as determining if the patient’s symptoms are appropriate for self-care are important skills all pharmacists should possess. The purpose of this webinar is to do just that as well as to discuss current practice and recent advances in pediatric pain and fever management using evidence-based nonprescription therapies.
