Daniele Avenoso, MD, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, discusses a study exploring the use of a myeloablative dose of busulfan and fludarabine combined with T-cell depletion in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Dr Avenoso comments on the safety and efficacy of alemtuzumab combined with myeloablative conditioning to enhance the outcomes of allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) for these patients.
