Скачать или смотреть China Navy’s oceanographic research ship concludes visit to Ecuador

The oceanographic research ship Zhu Kezhen of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) made a call at Guayaquil Port, Ecuador on June 7.

The ship, designed and built independently by China, is on a six-month global goodwill voyage around the world.

The ship was named after a prominent Chinese meteorologist, geologist and educator who lived between 1890 and 1974. The boat has a 165-member crew, of which 36 are officials and 129 are troop staff.

"The mission is part of an annual routine training. It's also the oceanographic research ship's first global voyage, which is meaningful. Zhu Kezhen started to sail on February 9. So far, it has been sailing for 120 days."

The visit to Ecuador comes as 2015 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The voyage is made on behalf of China's Hydrographic Bureau to Ecuador, a member state of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).

This is also the fourth time that the Chinese navy vessels visit the Latin American country.

On its previous legs of the current trip, the oceanographic research ship paid visits the PortLouis in Mauritius, Port of Cape Town in South Africa and Salvador Port in Brazil.

On June 12th, Zhu Kezhen will continue its global voyage and finally go back to China in early August.
