Hey!

I’m Jack Willis, an emerging electronic/indie/pop artist gearing up to make waves with my debut single, "Why Don’t You Love Me?", releasing on December 13th. My music combines vibrant beats with introspective lyrics, creating tracks that are both fun and emotionally resonant.

Recently relocating from Auckland to Sydney I'm deeply inspired by the music scenes of Australia and New Zealand, I’ve worked with incredible producers across both countries to refine my sound. The body of work I’m set to release in early 2025 truly captures who I am and the stories I want to share.

For me, music is all about connection. Whether it’s someone at a gig finding solace in a lyric or a collaboration with a fellow artist, creating those interactions in a cathartic way is my ultimate goal. My songs explore themes of identity, LGBT relationships and culture, love, and the longing to be seen.

I can’t wait to share my journey with you and hope my music resonates in ways that make you feel heard and understood.

About the track:
"Why Don’t You Love Me?" tells the story of when I moved to Florida at 18, my first real taste of freedom and independence. It was both terrifying and exhilarating—a mix of emotions that shaped me. During that time, I met a boy through a mutual friend. We quickly hit it off, and after spending more time together, a connection started to build.

Our relationship blossomed with sweet moments, like holding hands at the movies for the first time or sharing a kiss in his car during a rainstorm. It felt like a summer romance straight out of a movie—staying at his place, sharing hammocks, and simply enjoying being together.

But when I had to return to New Zealand, everything changed. The sadness of leaving him behind was overwhelming, and a couple of months later, I was devastated when he told me his ex had reached out and he wanted to meet them. It was a painful realization that what felt so significant to me might not have meant the same to him.

"Why Don’t You Love Me?" was born out of that heartbreak—not from a place of ego but from confusion and vulnerability. It reflects the feeling of sharing something beautiful and meaningful with someone, only to be left wondering why they didn’t feel the same.
