The Problem is NOT Lack of Resource - Leadership Development

Every leader faces the challenge of defining what needs to change in their organization and how fast. The question that quickly emerges is how is that change going to be implemented? Where is the resource to do it going to come from. Since everyone will tell you that they are already fully loaded, a leader has to decide whether more resource is needed or whether to reallocate resource.

Most people recognize there is a lot of waste in their organizations, but it exists in small pockets in many different places. It is difficult to locate all the misallocation. In this video Gary advocates that in most cases organizations DO NOT need more resource they need a better way to prioritize the highest priorities and some sort of system or accountability that makes these important but non-urgent priorities get managed with urgency. By making the important urgent, you help people displace the activities that are lower priority.
