Good Morning St. Louis! It's time for another freshly brewed episode of the STL Coffee Tour, and this week I had the pleasure of visiting Coma Coffee in Richmond Heights. Founded in 2016 by the Holtzman siblings, Coma Coffee is dedicated to sourcing only the highest quality beans from around the world and roasting them in a way that showcases their unique origins.

As I checked out their menu, I was impressed by the variety of drinks available, including CBD-infused beverages and a single origin espresso option. While I was looking forward to trying their single origin Mexico espresso, unfortunately it wasn't available during my visit. But fear not, I'll definitely be back to give it a try!

The shop itself is spacious and filled with natural light, thanks to a stunning front wall of windows. There are plenty of seating options, including comfortable chairs, bar stools, small tables, and larger communal tables. Coma Coffee has a modern, clean, stylish look to it that's perfect for meeting friends or larger group projects. And if you're hungry, their menu features a great selection of small plates and entrees, like the mouth-watering Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich with Bacon that I couldn't resist trying.

Overall, my visit to Coma Coffee was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and high-quality coffee experience. So grab your favorite mug and join me on this week's adventure!

Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich with Bacon

The Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich with Bacon was incredibly delicious and just what I needed to start my day after all this coffee! The biscuit is huge with a soft, buttery texture and rich flavor. The egg is fried hard and topped with a nice melty, stringy Cheddar blend. And the Bacon is thick and crispy with a perfectly smoky flavor. This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for when I ordered it! Absolutely fantastic!

COMA Coffee Drinks

Story Teller Blend Espresso -
Starting off today I decided to add an espresso into the mix for my first drink. I got to try their Storyteller Blend crafted from a 70% Columbian and 30% Guatemalan mix. Served with a sidecar of sparkling water as a palette cleanser, these expertly roasted beans produce bold flavors of chocolate, caramel, dark cherry, and orange peel. Grown at high altitudes and processed using the washed method, COMA Coffee’s Storyteller Espresso is a perfectly balanced experience that’s sure to captivate your taste buds!

Strawberry Cappuccino -

Following that is a Strawberry Cappuccino made with the Storyteller Espresso blend, strawberry milk, and beet root powder, with a rose petal garnish. The intensely floral and fruity aroma leads to a deliciously strawberry forward coffee drink without losing focus of the coffee. Rich and creamy with little to no acidity, this perfectly balanced beverage is one real sweet treat and one I definitely recommend for strawberry lovers!

Single Origin Pour Over Costa Rica Tarrazu (Rare Producer Series)

And lastly I got a pour over from COMA Coffee’s Rare Producer Series single origin beans, The Costa Rica Tarrazu. This lightly sweet, wine-like roast has fruit forward flavor highlighting tart raspberry and Cabernet notes with hints of dark cocoa. The Tarrazu beans are naturally processed which provide just the right level of sweetness to control the low background acidity without disrupting the overall balance and flavor. I thought this was a great cup with some unique and interesting flavors I haven’t tried in a coffee before.
