Several progressive groups in Cebu held a rally on Sunday morning to protest against the ongoing investigation of the flood control projects, simultaneous with other protests nationwide.

These included members from Kilusang Mayo Uno, Bayan Central Visayas, Karapatan, Partido Lakas ng Masa and many more.

“We want to contribute so that we can solve the people’s problem such as crisis in politics. We are obligated to involved the people,” said Teody Navea, one of the convenors.

They are also calling for the resignation of those politicians involved in the scam.

More than a hundred protesters marched from Fuente Osmena to Colon Street where an effigy of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr and Vice President Sara Duterte were burned.

This afternoon, another rally is slated involving the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu.
Archbishop Albert Uy will lead the movement called “Sugboangong Pakigbisog Kontra Korapsyon”.
All members of the Archdiocese, the faithful and others will march from the Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño until Fuente Osmeña Circle for a program.

“Truth must reign. Integrity must rise. For Cebu. For our nation. For future generations,” said Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy.
