From surfing wood planks to pro Surfers. This Surf Club from Côte D´Ivoire needs our support.

This is a call out to anyone who loves surfing,
This is a call out to anyone who loves traveling,
This is a call out to anyone who loves to support the ones who need a little help to help themselves and therefore others.

10 years ago I fell in love with a little fishing village in Cote D´Ivoire.
The kids and their families became my friends and are today young men and women like my family.
In 2015 some of you supported me to bring some old surfboards here, so they could start surfing on boards instead of wood planks, like the surfers that they saw coming to surf their wave.
You supported me to bring wetsuits here, so they could take more than one wave, before being too cold.
Today I ask you to support the little surf club out of today's 7 members to get out there and show the world what they can do on the wave.
Surfing is an Olympic discipline but until today you hardly see any black Africans representing their country.
This has a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest ones until today is the lack of money to pay for what is needed.
A surfboard, surf-repair, wax, leash, a combi, if you want to go far at least a telephone where you can watch other surfers on YouTube to grow and for this, you need again money for data.
Surf Drewin is slowly getting there. They find each a board every one or two years, two have a smart phone now. But in the 10 years none of them has left their country, they surf mainly the one wave in front of their house. Which is amazing, but if you want to go to for competitions you need to make contacts, surf different waves, learn English, experience how other surfclubs are doing it, grow your mind to see the possibilities and chances.
For this, we want to take three of them Ezekiel, Amede and Solo (the others can't get time off from their contracts with the fishing boats) to Ghana.
They can stay there for free at friends and a local surf camp. But they need to eat and go back on local transport by themselves and we want to buy them a tent, which will stay with the surf club. So whenever some people come to their spot to surf and continue to other places, some of them could spontaneously join in and would be a bit more independent.
The big dream is to see them representing their country in the next Olympic games.
To start somewhere, they need to join competitions.
We want to collect 500 Euros, to pay for a tent, food, the return, money to get them ID cards to be able to travel freely (yeah no one of them has an ID card!! Some of them are even originally from Ghana and are living in between worlds without being registered somewhere) and if possible there will be some money left to return to Ghana for a competition in autumn, which they can then hopefully manage to reach by themselves.
As always, this is not a gift. As they have to give back. For the surfboards that got from our side, they always had to rubbish collect and support the community, as well as share waves, repair the boards, and go to school. For this trip we want them to meet the female local surf club in Ghana to understand how to engage girls in surfing, make them burn for it, overcome their fears, see the benefits, and get their parents to allow them to go into the water. So that next year, when we come back here, the surf club won't just have joined some competitions, and gained experience for themselves but there will be also local female surfers shredding.

I have known these guys since they were so small. I love them from the bottom of my heart. I know where they could reach, if they get more support.
