Arrow is left in charge of the herd for a few days and a handsome stranger appears, courting Boon Boon. Arrow leads the herd into the middle of a brumby hunt and The Brolga steps in to save his daughter. The Brolga send the stranger away – he is not good enough for his daughter. . .

Arrow moves the herd to the gloomy, fearful Misty Lake to hide from Thowra. When both Arrow and The Brolga refuse to confront the terrifying Bunyip of Misty Lake, Thowra turns up and proves him to be a harmless friendly creature. The Brolga is furious at being shown up as a coward and swears he will get his revenge on Thowra. . .
