This debate featured a panel of four industry and transportation technology experts in an Oxford-style debate on whether the internal combustion engine has a future in Silicon Valley.

Organized by the Stanford Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency, the panel included president and CEO of CALSTART John Boesel, senior adviser for BMW iVentures and managing director of Icebreaker Ventures Mark Platshon, and Toyota Motor Sales senior engineer Jackie Birdsall. Jeffrey Ball, Scholar in Residence at the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy & Finance at Stanford University, moderated the panel.
