A BRUCKNER A MONTH

We had the chance to film our second video in the Grand Ballroom of the prestigious ss Rotterdam. Since 1959 this has been the legendary flagship of the Holland America Line. In 2008 it found it’s way back to the Port of Rotterdam.

The second piece in our series is Christus factus est (WAB 11). Bruckner composed this motet, which uses the gradual of Maundy Thursday, in 1884 and is originally set for mixed choir a capella. By means of modulation and chromatic, Bruckner achieves heightened expressiveness for the Passion text, influenced by Wagner's music and the Grail motif from Wagner's Parcifal in particular.

We hope you’ll enjoy it!
