The Battle of Hamburger Hill (May 13, 1969 – May 20, 1969) was a 'turning-point' battle of the Vietnam War fought by US Army and Republic of Vietnam forces vs. thhe People's Army of Vietnam during Operation Apache Snow. After 10 days of bruising battle, U.S. forces took the hill, only to abandon it days later. Sniper fire was so intense, one soldier called it 'a human meat grinder.

At the same time - crawling through the jungles - Carlos Norman Hathcock II was a Marine sniper with a service record of 93 confirmed kills. Hathcock's record and the extraordinary details of the missions he undertook made him a legend in the U.S. Marine Corps. In Hanoi - torture of American POWs continues and increases.
