This is my rendition of a 19th century American May Crowing Hymn based on the text of American composer Mary Walsh. Mary E. Walsh born near Harleigh, Pennsylvania, likely in the 1840s or 1850s was active mid-to-late 19th century, was an American composer known for popular works like the beloved May Crowning hymn "Bring Flowers of the Fairest" (originally "Crowning Hymn") and the enduring piano waltz, "Black Hawk Waltz," achieving significant popularity despite relative obscurity in her time, with her music appearing in various hymnals, St Basil Hymnal and sheet music collections.
Lyrics:
1. Bring flowers of the rarest
bring blossoms the fairest,
from garden and woodland and hillside and dale;
our full hearts are swelling,
our glad voices telling
the praise of the loveliest flower of the vale!
refrain: O Mary! we crown thee with blossoms today,
Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May,

2. Our voices ascending,
In harmony blending,
Oh! Thus may our hearts turn
Dear Mother, to thee;
