Rodrigo Mezú Mina es oriundo de Santander de Quilichao, Cauca, Colombia. Es Oficial de La Fuerza Aérea Colombiana en el grado Mayor y lleva 18 años al servicio de la institución.

En su formación académica, tiene un pregrado en Administración Aeronáutica de la Escuela Militar de Aviación y Maestría en Estudios Internacionales con énfasis en los Conflictos y la Cooperación de la Universidad Old Dominion en Norfolk, Virginia, Estados Unidos, es ex becario Fulbright 2010 y líder Afrodescendiente.

Fue miembro de la Subcomisión Técnica para el Fin del Conflicto, grupo de militares y policías encargados de diseñar con las FARC-EP el modelo de Cese al Fuego y Dejación de las Armas incluido en el Acuerdo de Paz entre el Gobierno Nacional y este grupo guerrillero.

En su presentación él relata el impacto y la relevancia de la participación de los militares colombianos en el proceso de paz con las FARC-EP, y el debate moral interno al que se enfrentaron.
Rodrigo Mezú Mina is from Santander de Quilichao, Cauca. He is Officer of the Colombian Air Force and has been in the service of the institution for 18 years.

In his academic training, he holds an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Administration from the Aviation Military School and a Masters in International Studies with an emphasis on Conflict and Cooperation from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He was a member of the Technical Subcommittee for the End of the Conflict, a group of military and police officers in charge of designing with the FARC-EP the model of cease-fire and detachment of arms included in the Peace Agreement between the National Government and the guerrilla group.

Currently, he carries out a promotion course to obtain the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and holds a Doctorate in Political Science from the Universidad de los Andes. He is father, son, husband, inveterate dreamer and tireless fighter.
