Out of the thousands of conversations I’ve had with folks in the first months of their freelancing journeys, I can say with confidence: whatever number you’re charging now, double it. It's super common for freelancers who are just starting out to undervalue their services.

Sure, when it comes to charging clients as a beginner, it’s okay to start small. You're building your brand and your reputation so don't be afraid to offer some "foot in the door" pricing to earn your first few clients.

Just remember, a new restaurant that’s opening will offer promo’s to get you in the door but they won’t give away free meals for the next 4-6 months after.

By nature of them coming to you to solve a problem, you’re already better at the solution than they are. In other words: you don’t have to be an expert, you just have to be more of an expert than the person who needs the problem solved.

Business is the exchange of money for solutions. When you provide a solution, you get paid. Do your research and don't hesitate to ask for what you're worth using questions like “how are you measuring success for this project?”
