Big Boy on the Move - UP 4014 between Overton and Marshall, TX 11/10/19 // Trinity Rail Productions

This video highlights a day in history that may never be repeated. Union Pacific's Big Boy steam locomotive, UP 4014, made a trek through the Lone Star State November 1-12, making stops in El Paso, San Antonio, Houston, Palestine, Marshall, and many places in between.

On November 10th, I caught the train at Overton, Texas, again just outside of Longview, and finally at Marshall where the train would be on display for the next few days. The last segment of the video shows the train on display at Marshall and also features a short interview with Jim Leonard, Steam Crew Conductor for UP's Steam Program. Any steam on a mainline today is rare, but especially when it's the world's largest operating steam locomotive and even more so when it's on the nation's largest freight railroad. I hope you enjoy!
