The inaugural Yuma Street Cultural Festival was nothing short of historic — a celebration of culture, heritage, and community joy that drew people together from across Kansas and beyond.

Festival Highlights
Over 1,200 attendees — from Salina to Wichita to Kansas City, with strong family presence from Lawrence, Junction City, and Topeka. And of course, Manhattan showed up strong — including many K-State students and staff who came out to celebrate with us.

27 vendors filled our festival villages with food, art, culture, and local entrepreneurship.

40 volunteers gave their time and energy to make this vision real.

Packed historic tours led by the legendary Coach Dave Baker, including more than 40 people on the very first tour.

Elders and descendants of Yuma’s first Black families — including Exodusters who came to Manhattan after slavery — joined us, turning the festival into a true homecoming.
