The Life of Croesus

Описание к видео The Life of Croesus

Famed for his great wealth,
Croesus, son of Alyattes,
was the last king of the Lydian Empire.

Upon the death of his father, in 585 BC Croesus succeeded to the throne at 35 years of age.

When the Persians took Sardis Croesus had ruled 14 years, and had been under siege 14 days.

And as the oracle predicted – Croesus put an end to a great empire – his own.
