The following is Timor et Tremor from Quatre Motets pour un Temps de Penitence composed by Francis Poulenc (1899-1963). This performance was part of Vox Reflexa's public dress rehearsal for its local audience at the First Presbyterian Church of Bloomington in preparation for its concert at the St. Louis Abbey Church concert later in the Spring.

The vocal ensemble Vox Reflexa meaning "Echo", strives to present at the highest level, contemporary polyphony rooted in western medieval tradition. The ensemble has been heralded as "[a] balanced group of beautiful voices that brought the audience to its feet several times. The concert was a rousing success for all concerned. (Journal and Courier, 2010)" The members of Vox Reflexa are young professionals and alumni of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University who hold advanced degrees from the finest institutions from the USA, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. The ensemble was founded in 2009 by Benjamin L. Geier and is based in Bloomington, Indiana, USA.

Timor et tremor venerunt super me,
et caligo cecidit super me:
miserere mei, Domine, miserere mei,
quoniam in te confidit anima mea.
Exaudi, Deus, deprecationem meam,
quia refugium meum es tu et adjutor fortis.
Domine, invocavi te, non confundar.

Fear and trembling came over me,
and darkness fell over me:
have mercy on me, O Lord, have mercy on me,
for my soul trusts in you.
Hear, O God, my prayer,
for you are my refuge and my strong helper.
Lord, I have called upon you, I shall not be confounded.
