This weekend, I went to the National Equine Show at the NEC in Birmingham. One such feature that was there was a Racewood Eventing Simulator on the PolyJumps stand. The Eventing Simulator is the most advanced mechanical horse in the Racewood stable as it can do dressage, showjumping and cross country all in one!

I was lucky enough to secure a slot on the simulator and after a warm-up in its dressage mode, essentially making sure I was comfortable in walk, trot and especially canter, it was onto some showjumping. Having never had a jumping lesson before, I was worried I was going to embarrass myself by being awful or even falling off. But in fact, I surprised myself by quickly getting the hang of it and actually being so good at it.

The crossrail jumps were perfect starter, then the regular spread jumps saw the horse properly take flight and there was even time to attempt the larger oxer jumps. There the horse leapt even higher and dropped even steeper!

Unfortunately, time ran out before I could have a go at the cross country but I absolutely enjoyed the experience and I'm already excited to tell you that I shall be doing this again in a few weeks time at the Racewood Training Centre itself, so stand by for another video of this coming soon!
