Join us in Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico where a chance encounter led us on a wild goose chase through town and brought us on a boat tour to Coronado Island in Loreto Bay National Marine Park.

Like any trip to town, we started off by searching the market for much-needed provisions and a few treats. Watch us try raw tamarind for the first time! Then, after failing to get cash at the ATM, we drive around the quaint town of Loreto on our way to catch a boat.

On the advice of the local grocer, we decided to take a tour of the islands just offshore. After climbing aboard our tour boat, we zoomed over the water keeping a lookout for wildlife like sea turtles, dolphins, and stingrays. Frankie even fulfills his lifelong dream of seeing a blue-footed booby in the wild.

Then it was time to splash into the water and check out the fish. Snorkeling here is simply amazing! The wildlife and the underwater rock formations are definitely worth braving the cold water to see.

But what really made our day was swimming with the sea lions. Of course we were nervous, but this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so into the water we went! After lunch on the beach, we explored the shoreline of the island, seeing one amazing sight after another!
