Niacinamide is a popular ingredient. I look at this ingredient as a jack of all. It suits all skin types if you use the correct one but is not the panacea for all skin concerns.

❌Using as solo agent for acne

Though niacinamide helps in controlling sebum and has anti inflammatory properties, it will not control active active as a solo agent. It may work for mild occasional acne but for others, you will require stinger agents like benzoyl peroxide or adapalene.

❌Using only niacinamide for dark spots

Niacinamide does help in reducing dark spots by causing redistribution of Melanosomes. It is a mild skin lightening agents. It may work for faint dark spots but for more pronounced dark spots use arbutin or kojic acid.

❌Applying on dry skin
✅Niacinamide is best absorbed on damp skin. If it combination with other stringer active agents then you can yours on dry skinZ otherwise as a solo agent, application on damp skin gives best results.

❌Starting with higher concentration
✅Start with 5 %
Though it is a non irritating soothing ingredient, higher concentrations of 10% or more can irritate skin especially if you have sensitive skin. So stick to 5-10% and not more. As a beginner use 5 % .

❌Not being consistent
✅you have to use it consistently for at least 4 week to see results.
Results with niaicnamide may be subtle and not visible early on. Buy on regular usage you will notice an improvement in skin tone and texture.
