Manhood, Boxing, and Appalachia: A Review of '12 Rounds in Lo's Gym'

Описание к видео Manhood, Boxing, and Appalachia: A Review of '12 Rounds in Lo's Gym'

Episode 32: Todd D Snyder's memoir '12 Rounds in Lo's Gym' is memorable in its portrayal of coal-mining culture, manhood, and poverty in Appalachia. The first section of the book is exceptional. The subsequent sections don't reach the same level of mastery but still contain compelling moments. Snyder's writing style impressed me, as did his ability to connect various themes to boxing.
