Seaglass lighted tree DIY (1st attempt - see notes)

Описание к видео Seaglass lighted tree DIY (1st attempt - see notes)

This is my 1st attempt at building a lighted 'seaglass' Christmas tree! Here's what worked and here's what I'd change:

Parts:
1 green foam cone from craft store
1 spool for tree trunk
1 wood base (Birchwood from craft store or any)
1 large screw to place cone onto (and glue when done
1 Glue gun and sticks
1 string of mini white LED lights
1 top for tree (small starfish or i used clar frosted glass
Dozens of pieces frosted seaglass - found, purchased or created* For this project, the thinner the better (beer/wine bottles).

I created mine in a rock tumbler by tumbling for 1 week with water and 50/50 coarse grit and sand.

See video for instructions.

What I'd change:
1. I'd make the base "branches" a little more even and semantically. Here, this just looks like a row of bad teeth....lol
2. At the top I'd make the skinny ones stick out more instead of down.
3. I'd have a better plan for the very top.
4. I'd wrap a longer string of lights around twice to have more lights.

What Iiked:
1. the variety of shades of glass
2. keeping the layers very close
3. having a base and stem
4. that the wires don't show....
