Shinola Craft Pop-Up Project: Phil Cuttance

As part of our Community of Craft pop-up shop series in Shinola’s London store, Jocks&Nerds created this short film to profile our final artisan for 2015, designer and maker Phil Cuttance.

Working from his north London studio and workshop, New Zealand-born Cuttance specialises in creating handcrafted resin pots and vases with striking pixellated surfaces. 

Cuttance manipulates the mould for each vase by hand before beginning the casting process, ensuring that each piece he creates is entirely unique.

In this film, Cuttance talks to us about the inspiration behind creating bespoke pieces, as well as his old-school approach to making.
