For the first time in history, we’ve revived the words of Khosrow, the great Sasanid emperor, spoken in 610 AD. Originally in the Pahlavi language—now extinct—, these words were once paired with music models uniquely suited to this ancient tongue. While these models once perfectly complemented Khosrow’s language, they no longer align with contemporary ears. Yet, we have resurrected and reimagined them for modern listeners. The original song was composed by the legendary musician Barbad, whose melodies once echoed through the courts of the Sasanian Empire. In this reimagined version, Khosrow shares his visionary dreams of a world without borders, the laws he wished to propose, and his bold worldview. He speaks of risk-taking, the journey he envisioned for future generations, urging them to follow a path toward unity and enlightenment. We’ve also revived the sounds of ancient instruments like the Barbat, capturing the essence of the music that once filled the Sasanian courts. This is more than a song—it’s a bridge to the past, reawakened for the future.
